Laboratory Well Water Testing and Analysis
When you want your home or community well water tested for arsenic, bacteria, or nitrate, the samples must be taken to a certified lab for testing and analysis. If you are purchasing or refinancing a home which uses well water or are concerned about unhealthy compounds in your well water, you'll need testing performed by a certified lab.
You can collect and submit well water samples yourself or arrange for our water quality professionals to do it for you.
We work with and recommend the following labs.

How to submit your own well water samples to a lab. Collecting and submitting well water samples for arsenic and nitrate testing is simple. Collecting for bacteria testing requires more attention to detail to ensure samples are not contaminated. Use the provided containers and follow the instructions carefully.
- Contact the lab in your area (Kirkland or Tacoma). They will provide sample bottles, preservatives, labels, and chain-of-custody forms for the testing.
- Submit your well water samples to the lab, as instructed.
- Allow 5 - 10 business days from the date the lab receives your samples to receive results.
